A weekly practice where each session begins with guided somatic explorations and opens into Contact Improvisation principles.
Somatic movement practices engage sensation, perception, touch and imagination, supporting you to listen to the body’s experience and approach dancing as a live, responsive and investigative practice.
Contact Improvisation is a relational dance form that explores what happens when we share weight and attention. Dancing and moving together becomes a way to experience ourselves and the world anew, a conversation that is sometimes playful, sometimes focused, sometimes moving, and sometimes surprising.
We will finish with a facilitated dance jam, moving in and out of solos, duets and groups.
Open to all levels of experience.
